Author’s Notes: | In the studio Cat’s producer Paul Samwell-Smith had to work with a limited string section on a limited budget. Del Newman conducted just 12 strings, just barely enough for a record, who all had to play their parts twice without any modern aids like a click or beat to keep exact pace. Though, with headphones on, you can actually hear one side of the strings getting ever so slightly ahead of the other in the fade-out of the original album mix; the double-tracked acoustic guitar suffers the same fate. Cat later often used the song to open his concerts with, although its purpose on the album is rather closure. | ||
